Spring is here... for now

So, this is what the world looked like less than a week ago:
This is what it looks like today:
Which do you think I like better? Do you ever wonder if Mother Nature is a little bi-polar?

Plus, my Hillyerie friend came for a visit. We both needed hair help and I had to cancel on her due to a rotten cold last week. So, she zipped on up here for the afternoon. It was lovely. Do you have one of those friends that you just want to squeeze because you love her so much? And you could hang out every single day and never get sick of her or run out of things to talk about and even if you did, it would be OK? Yeah, that's Hillyerie. But she lives in Outer Mongolia, USA, (although I am grateful for the USA part - it would be much bigger drive from Outer Mongolia, Mongolia) so we don't get to see each other too terribly often. Isn't she precious? Isn't her hair all sorts of cuteness? (If I do say so myself...)
It was a happy day. Plus, she did my hair, too. It is lovely, but the picture I took is not, so you will have to come visit to see it. And if you don't know where I live, you probably don't need to see my hair. Except for Lynne. I don't know if she knows where I live, but she might want to see my hair. I would let her.

Are You Kidding Me?

This is what I woke up to this morning (APRIL 16 - you know, the dead of winter?): That is no small amount. I am not pleased, I tell you. Spring! Sunshine! Warm! Please!!!!
The (even grumpier) end.

Does This Look Like Spring to You?

I didn't think so.
The (grumpy) end.

Dressed for Easter

I love having a new Easter dress. Now, I seldom get one, but find just as much joy out of my kids getting new spring clothes - which they need because they grow like weeds. Roxie's dress was actually Ashton's Easter dress about 7 years ago. My Joanie mother-in-law made it. She also made me a maternity one to match because I was pregnant with Christian. Wonder Woman, I tell you. Ashton got an Easter suit this year. Doug is so not pleased because he says she looks like she's 22. He might be right, but I didn't pick it out, she did. Awfully grown up and gorgeous, if you ask me. Christian got new pants and a tie that is exactly like one of his daddy's. Look at that face. Is he handsome enough for you?

Happy Easter

To me, Easter is the most sacred of all holidays. It celebrates the Atonement and Resurrection. Last week, during General Conference, Elder Holland's talk touched me as, possibly, no talk ever has before. The Church put together a short video from his talk to celebrate Easter. I was going to post the video to my blog, but can't quite figure out how, so just click here to see it on You Tube.

General Conerence, Spaghetti and Easter Eggs

Wow. What a title! Does it ever seem that you go weeks with nothing to post and then all at once you have like 20 things? Yeah, me, too. So, here are a few, with more to come!

Last Saturday and Sunday was General Conference. I am so grateful that we can watch it on TV. How many people in the world don't have that opportunity? I always print out some workbooks or the kids to do while they watch. Here are pictures of my cute family watching it...

While we were watching General Conference, Roxie wandered into the kitchen. She was very quiet, so I said, "Roxie, what are you doing in there?"

"Eating Christian's spaghetti." Then, she walked in licking Christian's plate and announced, "Mom, Christian needs more spaghetti!"

Plus also, we colored Easter eggs. Roxie fell asleep and missed the excitement, but here are pictures of the fun!

A Visit to Hillyerie's House

I plugged my camera into the computer to download the few pictures I had taken. But the computer informed me that there were SEVENTY photos to download. My mind was spinning. How could I have taken 70 photos and not remembered it? Am I losing my mind? (Don't answer that.) Oh, yes. One day, while visiting my Hillyerie friend and her recently tonsil-less daughter, I said Christian could take A picture. Apparently, he did not take A picture, but 59ish pictures. So, here is a small sampling: See, I told you Roxie's an angel! (I should probably mention that they were playing dress-up and with Halloween makeup.)
Here is a self-portrait: Here is the tonsil-less cutie (she is not really that pale, it is some white shimmery makeup): Here is a picture of Hillyerie and me: Yes, we look a catalogs while we visit. You would, too, if you got the fancy catalogs she gets.
And here is Roo: (That is her blog name.) I keep telling her mother that she belongs on the cover of a magazine. And, if possible, she is even funnier than she is cute.

Where is Ashton, you ask? Christian took a million pictures. Of the floor. Of Hillyerie's chairs. Of one of the pictures in the catalog. Many of Roo running away from the camera. But not one picture of Ashton. So, I will blog Ashton photos tomorrow. Because she is lovely and should be blogged.
